The Captain Vassilis and Carmen Constantakopoulos Foundation supported the organization of TEDxKalamata during years 2013, 2014, and 2015. Kalamata is the only Greek city besides Athens to host the TEDx event. Moreover, it is the first time that the talks have taken place in an ancient theater—the theater of Messini—as well as the town’s Frankish castle. All these years, great speakers have offered their expertise and experience, inspiring the audience. 

TEDx is a program designed to give communities, organizations, and people the opportunity to hold discussions on a local level, with the aim of transmitting worthwhile ideas. The name “TED” stands for Technology, Entertainment & Design, which comprise the three main themes. 

The program has managed to bring forward thousands of people and their ideas, encouraging them not only to change and evolve, but also to help others do the same.
