The “Friends of the Child” charity association was founded in 1987 in Attica. Its main goal is to care for children of destitute families (single-parent or nuclear) facing socio-economic or intra-family problems, until they reach adulthood. The association covers their basic monthly needs in medicine, medical examinations, food, bills, rent, school fees, entertainment, etc.

In 2007 the association achieved one of its major goals, to open a nursery school in the center of Athens for the children of the destitute families it has taken under its wing.

The Captain Vassilis and Carmen Constantakopoulos Foundation has provided great support to the “Friends of the Child” association, by ensuring the right heating conditions for the nursery school’s premises.
