VOLUNTARY CLEAN-UP AT THE MUNICIPALITY OF PYLOS-NESTOR
The voluntary clean-up at the Municipality of Pylos-Nestor was concluded with a great turnout of local authorities and the area’s inhabitants.
On Sunday, June 7, people of all ages gathered in various areas of the Municipal Unit of Pylos, and cleaned the main square, the area around the Indoor Sports Center of Pylos, the monuments at Navarino Bay and the Divari beach.
The activity was placed under the auspices of the Municipality of Pylos-Nestor, and was co-organized by the “Captain Vassilis and Carmen Constantakopoulos” Foundation, the Pylos Association of Enterprises for Tourism Development, the Maritime Athletic Pylos Association “Nestor,” and the Pylos Nautical Sports’ Club.
Of great significance was the contribution of the Kalamata Youth Center volunteers, as well as those of the 6th Air Scouts System of Kalamata, who helped clean the Divari area.
It should be noted that the volunteers continued the clean-up despite the cloudy – and at times rainy – weather. The clean-up activities at the Municipality of Pylos-Nestor began on Friday morning, on the occasion of the World Environment Day, and will continue for the entire month of June in various areas of the municipality.
